So this past few days I went and attended my first cube of truth event. In this event we stand in a square/cube fashion holding signs and laptops/iPads quiet and not saying anything. On the iPads/laptops we show footage inside factory farms. This footage can be from dairy farms, pig farms and chickens(egg layers). Practises like baby chicks be ground up alive is shown. We show footage that would other wise be hidden from public knowledge. A lot of these practises are so very cruel but because it is standard practice it is not seen as cruel and little is done about it. It has to be something totally out of the ordinary to get someone to do something about it. Why so many organizations push to change the laws. The best way you can help to put these practises to an end is to simply not support it with your dollars.
We also have participants in the event around to engage with people that might have some questions or to simply start a conversation with those who stop to watch a video. I truly find that this type of activism is effective and gets people to look at whats going on. Then with the footage we are showing that catches them to watch and see things that the general public just does not know.
