My name is Nikki and I approaching my 4th year as a vegan in July 2017. I started getting active back in 2014 when I discovered Toronto Pig Save in 2013. I was previously helping out with spay and neuter clinics in Mexico for cats and dogs where I felt called to do and help more for animals. For a while I was following what Toronto Pig Save was doing and at the time I was living in another city and I wanted to get involved. Shortly after moving to Burlington I learned that there was a slaughterhouse in the city I had connected with Anita and she put me in contact with a group that was holding vigils in Burlington Ontario at Fearmans. I connected with one of the organizers at the time and she told me about the next vigil and I went to bear witness and have been since. So now every week I go to bear witness to the pigs on there way to slaughter. However I have gone to Toronto to be there with the chickens, and cows as well.
Since getting involved with the save movement, I also have attended various other demos and events. I have participated in National Animal Rights Day in Toronto in 2015, March to end all slaughterhouses, Fur awareness Demos, Empty the tanks, and other events too.
