Common Ingredients to look out for.
Below is a list of common and everyday "ingredients" to be on a lookout for. A lot of these items come from animals and basically are a byproduct from us eating animals and animal products. When you really think of it do you really want to eat bones or cartilage of an animal?
Firstly I want to say if you are going vegan and you make a mistake don't beat yourself up. With time you get better at it, you'll remember things easier, and it will become second nature. For now though, here is a list of everyday ingredients that are found it most products.
Casein: is a milk protein comes from dairy.
Gelatin: is made from processing beef or pork bones, cartilage, tendons and tissues
Whey: is a dairy-based byproduct of cheese-making
Whey is a common ingredient in crackers, bread, and other baked goods.
Honey: Is food made by bees that they make for themselves.
Beeswax: Look at the ingredients carefully as there is synthetic beeswax which is fine to use you want to avoid the real thing.
Isinglass: is the pure form of gelatin taken from the bladders of some freshwater fishes.
Lanolin: fat that is taken from sheep's wool
Lard: Fat that surrounds a pigs, cows, sheep's stomach and kidneys.
